Eyes Of The Beholder

Rays of sun glimmer, through green foliage,

And syrupy dew clings, to growing grass.

Clouds create, imagined three dimensional tapestry,

The pendulum shifts to an fro, light tapping resounds,

Musical, as fingertips touch keys.

Random letters, become words taking meaning.

Imagination flows, as clear mountain streams,

Anything is possible, when an artist toils.

A masterpiece, awaits it’s audience,

Finally, her eyes slowly, digest the text.

Deep sigh spills dejectedly, from her lips,

Her head shakes in displeasure, paper crumpled and tossed.

No masterpiece today, she departs on an inspired walk,

While she walks…..footsteps creep, across the wooden floor,

The crumpled parchment, rescued and pressed flat.

He reads what she rejected, a smile glowing upon his face,

Always the perfectionist….I’ll take you as you are.

Her words forever move his heart,

The parchment tucks safely, with all the others,

In the notebook, he keeps hidden,

Her words are treasures, diamonds in the rough,

She can polish them to sparkle,

But he’ll take them, as the flawed masterpieces they are.

make a mistake e-mail

A Illinois man left the snow-filled streets of Chicago for a vacation in Florida. His wife was on a business trip and was planning to meet him there the next day. When he reached his hotel, he decided to send his wife a quick e-mail.

Unable to find the scrap of paper on which he had written her e-mail address, he did his best to type it in from memory. Unfortunately, he missed one letter and his note was directed instead to an elderly preacher’s wife whose husband had passed away only the day before.

When the grieving widow checked her e-mail, she took one look at the monitor, let out a piercing scream, and fell to the floor in a dead faint. At the sound, her family rushed into the room and saw this note on the screen:

DEAREAST WIFE: JUST GOT CHECKED IN. EVERYTHING PREPARED FOR YOUR ARRIVAL TOMORROW.
